My friend Michelle tagged me last week. Here are 7 random things about me that you may or may not care to know:

1. I have wide feet - so wide there is room for a sixth toe on each foot. So wide that I purchase shoes at least 2 sizes bigger to fit the width. So wide that I was ecstatic to see a billboard advertising a "Wide Show Wearhouse" on the highway coming home from D.C. last week (we took the next exit).

2. One of my first real jobs was at the Picture People. I was humiliated to wear their awful "uniform" consisting of a helicopter hat, goofy tie, and old man's vest. I'm also ashamed to say it was the one place I was "let go" from - I forgot to tell them I was going on vacation. When I didn't show up for my shifts the next week, they just told me not to come back. But I got over it - kind of. I don't think I'll ever step foot in one again.

3. To this day, I think I still know all the words to the "Newsies" soundtrack. And if you left me alone in a room with Michelle and Elizabeth for 2 minutes, I'd have the dance moves back as well. And I was in love with Spot (who wasn't?) Should I delete this one....

4. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney Princess. When I was young (okay, 4 until about 11) I was convinced that my hair would go through a natural change from dark brown to lovely golden blond. You see, when the sun shines I have red high lights. I just knew that those red high lights would take over and by the time I was 16 (and ready to meet prince charming), I would have golden hair.

5. I started acting for local theater in 6th grade. I loved it! Every year from 6th grade until I graduated high school I was in at least one local production. My debut role was Martha, one of Helen Keller's "playmates" in "The Miracle Worker." After that I did "Fiddler on the Roof," "South Pacific," "Guys and Dolls," "Le Miser," "Anything Goes," and one more that I can't remember (I'm sure Elizabeth or Michelle could remind me). Anyway, in college I gave myself a break and have done anything since. I'd like to get involved again.

6. My family owned two llamas for several years. Bo and Sweet William (Billy). We used them for hiking in the mountains - or at least we tried to. Bo was a real beast and then Billy got a skin disease and carrying packs irritated it. They ended up being lawnmowers for our fields and my grandparents. I loved brushing them and keeping the soft hair.

7. And here we go - the grand finale (but not really, this is kind of boring). The only pizza Scott and I can agree on is half with just cheese and pineapple chunks (for me) and the other half with cheese and black olives (Scott). No meat, no veggies, nothing else - just pineapple and olives. But don't you dare mix them together, they each need their own half of the pizza.

It was so much fun reading your things!! Okay, so I'll sing along with Newsie's with you anyday :). I used to try and write myself into the story. And how fun that you were in plays! So was I. I really miss it.

Good stuff! I loved the Newsies. Your post got me singing "Santa Fe" this morning. And I definitely had a thing for Spot. (and I also have wide feet!) Ok, enough with the embarrasing confessions. Thanks for the laugh.

I've never been tagged before! Yay.

It was fun reading about your random things. I am really going to have to think about what I will do for mine.

Meliss,
Did we ever discover our shared love for Newsies while we were roomies?? My crush was on Jack...and I also LOVE just pineapple on my pizza...did I know that about you before? Hm...Well, I don't want to be a party pooper but I was tagged awhile back...I don't think I could come up with anything else to say... the first time I did it I realized how boring I am!! Hahaha. Hope we can see each other soon.....

What fun facts to share! I can't believe you've had llamas! And I know how you feel about the feet thing--I have the opposite problem...narrow feet! Anyway, sorry for not answering for awhile, but we are in Saginaw, which is part of the Lansing mission! Ask Scott if he served here!

So what did Scott say about Saginaw? A dump? A lot of crime? Yea, probably right. We live out of the city where it's nicer, though! Hey, look at my blog. I just did a little summary of the last couple years so people can catch up on us!
