Charles Dickens summed up my trip to Washington - It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. There were a lot of nice parts, but also a whole lot of miserable ones. For example:

Best of Times:
Holding my brand new nephews, Colt and Kender
Worst of time:
Trying to keep Lucas from drooling on them when we discovered he had Hand, Foot and Mouth (a nasty virus with sores in your mouth and blisters on your hands and feet. It is highly contagious).

- Visiting with my Grandpa and watching my kids play with him. (They call him Grandpa Great).
- Eating mom's home cooked meals!

- Making blackberry jam
- The one family game night we had
- Watching movies together
- Visiting with my siblings and parents
- Getting an iPad

Worst of Times:
- My kids wouldn't fall asleep without me in the room and woke up everyday at 6:30. I was with them round the clock from 6:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. and then calming them down whenever they woke up at night.
- Lucas' Hand, Foot and Mouth kept us housebound, killing all my fun plans to visit old friends
- Gaining back the weight I'd work pretty hard to loose this summer.
Its the Hand Foot and Mouth that really did me in. But I will say that it sure made me appreciate when we were all healthy again. Looking back on these pictures makes me realize it was a better trip than I thought. We had a good time together.
