Good news AND it's almost Christmas

Great news!!!! Scott and I are getting a puppy! We finally decided that a whippet would be a great dog breed for us. At first, it seemed hopeless we could find one because they are more rare - meaning, we'd have better luck finding a golden retriever or terrier. Scott called the local AKC, who recommended a few people who have bred in the past. Luck was on our side, because one of them had just had a batch of puppies 7 wks ago.

We called the breeder and asked her a million questions, which she was more than happy to answer, and then visited on my lunch break earlier this week. They were soooo cute! Most of the liter had a faun coloring, and several were blue brindle. Besides meeting the 7 pups, she introduced us to her 6 adult dogs. Many of them are champions or come from a champion line. Not that it matters, but it's cool to know.

We are squeezing in another visit on Thursday before we fly to Seattle, in order to choose which one we want before they are all spoken for. Then, we will have a little puppy waiting for us to pick up when we come back to Savannah. We are thrilled! So far, we have a running list of dog names, but haven't picked any. We'll let you know what happens.
